Dr. Sean E. Matheny was born in Columbus, OH. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1997. After spending two years teaching mathematics at Ohio State, he decided to attend dental school. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Ohio State in 2003. Soon after graduation, he started a practice from scratch in Reynoldsburg, Ohio which eventually grew to over 3,000 active patients. In 2018, Dr. Matheny and his family made the exciting decision to sell the practice and move to Florida, where he is now continuing his dental career.
Dr. Matheny is an Invisalign provider and a member of the American Dental Association, the Boucher Prosthodontic Conference, the Florida Dental Association, and the West Coast Dental District Association. Dr. Matheny is also a part-time professor at LECOM School of Dental Medicine. He and his wife Julie have been married since 2000 and have two children. They reside in the Sarasota area, absolutely love the warm weather, and are avid fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes! Go Bucks!
Lana grew up in southwest Florida and has been working in dental since 2019. She studies Anthropology at USF and has a background in healthcare and applies those skills to the front desk. Her favorite part about working in dental is getting to know the patients and hearing their stories. She enjoys making graphics and doing marketing for the practice. In her spare time she likes to read, write, and cook!
Jennifer started her dental debut with Buckeye Dental. She has 3 years of experience in healthcare and uses her excellent English and Spanish communication skills at the front desk. She loves learning about dentistry and hopes to go to school to become a dental hygienist. In her spare time, she loves to play video games and spend time with friends and family.
Kim is from South Gardiner, Maine and moved to Florida 25 years ago. She came to our practice with the knowledge, passion, and experience in dentistry. With over 20 years of dental experience, Kim is very passionate about changing people's perception of dentistry into a more positive one. She works to diminish dental anxiety by creating a friendly and comfortable environment. She loves dental photography and educating patients about the benefits of a healthy mouth. In her free time, Kim likes to listen to music, dance, and watch movies.
