Buckeye Dental — welcoming new patients

New Patients

We're Glad You're Here

Everything you need to know before your first visit — so you can walk in confident and leave smiling.

Your First Visit

What to Expect

We know starting with a new dentist can feel like a leap of faith. At Buckeye Dental, we've designed the new patient experience to be unhurried, transparent, and genuinely welcoming. Your first appointment is a conversation as much as it is an exam — we want to understand your history, your goals, and any concerns you have before we do anything else.

01

Complete Your Forms

Fill out your new patient paperwork before you arrive — it takes about 10 minutes and means we can spend your appointment time on you, not on clipboards.

02

Arrive & Get Settled

Come a few minutes early. Our team will greet you, answer any questions, and make sure you're comfortable before we get started.

03

Comprehensive Exam

Our team will perform a thorough exam — teeth, gums, bite, oral tissues, and digital X-rays. No surprises, no pressure.

04

Your Care Plan

We'll walk you through exactly what we found, what we recommend, and what your options are. You leave with a clear picture and a plan you feel good about.

Absolutely. Dr. Kestranek and his team have extensive experience caring for patients with dental anxiety and take a calm, patient-first approach. Please let us know when scheduling so we can take extra care to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation is also available when appropriate for patients who may need additional help relaxing during treatment.

Yes. We reserve time in our schedule for same-day emergency visits. If you're in pain or have a dental emergency, call us and we'll get you in as soon as possible.

You're in good company, and you won't be judged. We see patients who haven't had dental care in years and our only goal is to help you get back on track — at whatever pace feels right for you.

Yes! We welcome children ages 3 and older and love helping make dental visits a positive experience from an early age. Our goal is to help little ones feel comfortable, become familiar with the dentist, and build healthy habits that last. If your child is younger than 3 and you have a concern or feel they may need to be seen sooner, please don’t hesitate to give our team a call.

For new patients, we take X-rays at your first visit to ensure we have a complete and up-to-date picture of your oral health. From there, our team will determine how often future X-rays are needed based on your dental history, current health, and what we observe during your exams.
